photowalking?
Photowalking is the act of walking with a camera for the main purpose of taking pictures of things you may find interesting. (See Wikipedia: Photowalking)
Some time back, Robert Scoble, and Thomas Hawk, started photowalking. A genre was born.

Does anyone know when the next photowalk will possibly happen? Is there a calendar posting that is easier then reading through all the blogs? The last one I went to was at Santa Monica
Thank you

[...] Photowalks are fun. I know this. I’ve been in the practice for ages, but it was only recently that “jargon” was applied to it. Now that it has, there are a lot more organised “photowalk” happening. [...]

I concur with G.L. and Melissa. Is there a way that you can set up a calendar either on this site, or link to an open to the public one with Googles Calendar, so that all photowalk groups can post the when and where of their walks? I think this meets your goals for this site, and it would certainly make organizing easier for the traveling photowalker…if there any of those around yet?
Thanks for the effort you are going through to organize this site.

[...] Taking 100 photos everyday has lead to me looking at the world differently. I have read a couple of blogs about the activity of photo walking – taking the camera with you when you go for a walk and taking pictures of the things that you see. Read about photowalking on Wikipedia or at Photowalking.org [...]

Hello,
I came across your website (photowalking.org) and I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one out there who photowalks. So does one have to pay dues and is there a secret handshake? LOL

The new photowalklist site looks like it will be a good resource for dates. I’d check there.
I’m holding one in Harrisburg (PA) on April 18th. Open to all! For more info, check:

@Andrew, At the top of the page is a tab called “Calendar”. Now, I know it’s nearly empty, but it’s supposed to have any and all photowalks.
This blog is intended to be available to help any and all who want to organize their own photowalks. I have provided many people, all over the world, with accounts on this blog, so they can write their own posts. You are welcome to post here, if you would like. Email me if you’re interested, trevor@trevorcarpenter.com
I’ll add your photowalk to the calendar, BTW. Oh, and have you posted your photowalk to the Photowalking group at Upcoming.org.

No problem, Naomi. If you have any photos on Flickr already, from that area, I’d love to use them. I’ll write a brief post, pointing everyone to your original post.
