I was looking at the map and if I can make a suggestions on the route. Making a dip by the WW2 memorial is well worth our time.

Also, parking may be an issue for some, especially since there's no Metro stop near the Lincoln Memorial. I think you can park on the street near the basin. Have to ask my friend at work tomorrow.

You definitely planned a long route!

You know Geoff, the websites made me think that the permits were issued to individuals. I don't want to make them think we're bigger or more official than we are. That may limit our ability to simply shoot photos.

I's suggest that anyone who thinks they need one, simply get one on their own.

Are we getting an overall permit to use tripods or should we each be getting one?

[...] Wow, that went fast. I am sorry to say that both sessions are now completely full. I will be sure to let you know if any slots open back up. If you still want to do some photowalking but couldn’t get into one of mine, you might be interested to know that Trevor Carpenter from Photowalking.Org is going to be in the DC area on the night before (Aug. 22) conducting a night time photowalk around the Mall and the Monuments. If you are interested, check out his post here. [...]

@Jeff

Yeah, I read about Scott's photowalks this morning. I must say, bummer that he's using the very community oriented photowalk as a marketing tool, for his new book. It makes me sad.

I sure hope that those not online so much won't associate all photowalking as a gimmick or something.

For the DC Photowalkers, I knew that Scott's photowalk would draw away some participants. That too is a bummer. Of course, you should honor your wife and not over do it. I'll be on my anniversary trip, whilst in DC, so there's no way I could do both.

Even if I were available, I'm not sure if I'd want to support Scott's misuse of the photowalk.

Thanks for your invitation, though. I appreciate it. I know your intentions are honorable.

Trevor,
I am sure by now that you have heard of the World Wide Photowalk being sponsored by Scott Kelby. Since you will be in town, I wanted to offer up an official invite to you to join me in Old Town Alexandria which just happens to be the day after your DC photowalk. I am going to try and make yours but 2 photowalks in 2 days? I don't know if the wife will be able to handle that :-)
