I’d like to invite you all to attend the next photowalk in Ventura County. The photowalk will be on March 15th, 2008 and we’ll meet at 3:30 pm. We’re going to head out to the Santa Susana Mountains for a more landscape focused photowalk. The majority of our events have been somewhat urban, and quite good. However, not all photographers get excited about urban photography. Some would love the opportunity to capture nature as well.

Great trails for the familyDSC_7494

So we’re going to head to the western end of Ventura County, in Simi Valley, and shoot in and around Corriganville Park. The Santa Susana Mountains are a unique mountain range that is loaded with beautiful large rolling rock hills. I’ve shot it before, as you can see in the photo.

I’m interested. As you come down to the date, maybe you could e-mail me the particulars. Thanks!

FYI, this is also the date for the Conejo Parks & Recreation “Spring Extravaganza” at the Conejo Creek Soccer Fields.

Total bummer. We were rained out.

We all arrived on time, and congregated in the parking lot. At about 3:35, we started wandering into the park. We quickly grouped up for a nice group photo, (to be processed shortly), and then off we went.

Within minutes, the rain started coming down. First in just a few drops here and there. Then, it legitimately opened up.

I’m totally depressed.

The rain passed after about 15 minutes and two of us stayed until nearly 6:30 picking up some nice light with the backdrop of black clouds.

@Hutch, Well, that’s a bummer, for us. I bet they turned out great. Make sure to tag them on flickr, so we can all enjoy them!

Hutch, that’s great that you were able to get more pictures after the rain! I thought about sticking around but my plan had been to also spend time with my sister’s family and since they have 5 month old babies the weather was already a bit much for them. We did congregate indoors and I took a few family shots for them at least.

Trevor, I still had fun, even though I did not get many shots (I’ve uploaded and tagged them to flickr). I’m looking forward to the next event!

Stuck it through the initial rain which lasted about 1/2 hour. Thereafter, the light was magic with dark clouds. My photos are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/lloyd_nakatani/tags/photowalking031508/
